Slovak Folk and Cultural Centre (SFCC) is a non-profit, volunteer organization based in Calgary, Alberta. Incorporated in 2011, SFCC main mission is to preserve, present and promote Slovak folk culture through organizing cultural events and supporting two folk groups Slniecko and Slnecnica. The mandate of our organization is to serve the community and provide welcoming environment for social interaction.

Folk Groups

Slovak Folk and Cultural Centre supports children's folk group Slniecko and adult's folk group Slnecnica.
Slniecko

The children's folk group Slniecko - The Little Sun - was established to provide opportunities for an encounter with Slovak language to the children of Slovak families living in Calgary.

Slnecnica

The Slovak Folk Group Slnecnica - The Sunflower - presents traditional old dances from different ethnographic regions of Slovakia.
